Last month I received la prairie’s Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream and Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil to test and try out. To say my skin has taken a beating this winter would be an understatement of epic proportions.
I have skied 35 days this winter already. I have been training for distance runs, I have had to walk the kids to school in arctic conditions. I am surprised I don't look like Grandmother Willow from Pochahontas. While I am glad that age has brought me wisdom, I will skip the wrinkles and age spots and other signs of aging.
Right around the holidays I noticed more fine lines popping up on my face--the price of spending so many glorious days outside. I'm not willing to become a dewy-skinned, maiden enclosed in glass admiring my porcelain skin. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I have been looking for skincare solutions to help. When this review opportunity came up I leapt at it. The la prairie Swiss Ice Crystal complex products retail for $600 when purchased at full price together. The big question: Are they worth it?
Four weeks later I have seen a glow return that can't just be an accident. I have seen fading of brown spots AND the fine lines around my eyes looks smoother. I started to think I would need to start wearing foundation everyday to get back a smooth look--now I know it's possible to get the skin of my 30's--it's just a matter of investing in skincare that uses science to fight aging.
Here's how it works, after cleansing (I've also been using the la prairie cleanser and ) then I mix a drop of the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil with the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream. I used my fingers to blend the products in the palm of my clean, dry hand, then I used my fingertips to apply the cream to my face and neck--avoiding my eyes. NOTE: don't use this on your eyes, try the White Caviar serum instead.
The cream is thick--the oil smooths it out a bit. It's a serious hydration solution. la prairie biotechnology researched the use of plant stem cells to "help renew the look of firmness and smooth the appearance of wrinkles, keeping you looking younger, longer." Investing in good skin is important to me. Bottom line: This technology was easy to implement into my skincare routine and I noticed excellent results.
Miles high in the Swiss Alps, in a world of sheer ice crystals, beauty transcends time. Here, two seemingly fragile plants and one tiny algae survive and thrive in the harshest setting on earth, developing strategies to outwit the environment. It’s only fitting then that la prairie, with a heritage deeply rooted in Switzerland, harnessed these extreme-survivalist secrets into the
