Anyone that knows me knows I'm a softie when it comes to books. I put my foot down with my girls on many purchases. I make them wait or spend their allowance money. Not when it comes to books. I think books open the world up to kids. I knew about Jimmy Fallon's Dada book - a cute idea trying to get baby's first word to be "dada." And when I was invited to the Jimmy Fallon Mama Book launch party, I RSVP'd an enthusiastic YES!
Held at the swank Rainbow Room restaurant atop Rockefeller Center, the room alone was worth the trip. Today Show friends and family were there along with a few bloggers. Hoda Kotb warmed up the crowd as we nibbled and sipped and looked at Jimmy's new book. Then the man of the hour arrived.
Jimmy has brought a heavy dose of kindness to the late night talk show "wars." As host, he plays the role of affable labrador. He's always up for a game or a giggle. Well, true to form at the Jimmy Fallon Mama Book launch he was warm and approachable. After a brief Q & A, Jimmy gathered the kiddos around him and read his book.

Yep, I loved the sloth illustration, though the owl page might have been my favorite. It's a fun book for kids 2 and under - they'll gravitate to the funky illustrations by Miguel Ordóñez and cool color combinations. I bet it's going to be on heavy rotation in a lot of houses.
Now tell me, what is your favorite children's picture book these days?
This Jimmy Fallon Mama Book feature is not a paid post. We were treated to breakfast.
