Jacob Burns Film Center Family Getaway
Got a tight budget this spring but still want to get away from NYC? Consider a film-buffs weekend. The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester offers Saturday and Sunday outings to the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville for Movies for Kids a light-hearted movie series that presents classic family films. In April the theme is cats, featuring films such as The Three Lives of Thomasina, Puss in Boots and Disneys That Darn Cat--all perfect for ages 4-9.
Teens can enjoy a night out with Friday Night Films at the Lab. Geared to teen-agers 14-18, this special program offers teens the chance to watch and then discuss popular films. And while their teens are entertained, parents can also enjoy a night at the movies with many award-winning art and first-run films to choose from.
The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) is a nonprofit cultural arts organization dedicated to: presenting the best of independent, documentary, and world cinema; promoting 21st century literacy, and making film a vibrant part of the community. Located on a 47,500 sq. foot, three-building campus in the center of Pleasantville, the JBFC is just 30 miles outside of New York City.
