Friends of the High Line is hosting a series of free arts and play programs for kids of all ages as part of the High Line Family Arts Weekend 7/17-18. Weekend fun includes "Imagination Playground in a Box," a free interactive project for kids where they can build their own pop-up playground using oversized foam blocks, mats, wagons, fabric, and more.

Here's what else is in the plans:
Sketching What You See, an open nature drawing session where kids will use the High Line as a source of creative inspiration and expression;
Wildflowers and Urban Landscape Collages with the Children’s Museum of the Arts, an arts workshop that will encourage kids to make tissue paper flowers and collages inspired by the surrounding plant life and urban vistas.

All events are free and open to the public. Imagination Playground in a Box and Sketching What You See are open to kids of all ages; Wildflowers and Urban Landscape Collages with the Children's Museum of the Arts is open to kids ages 4 and up. Adults must accompany children.
