The gluten free craze has been going strong for a while now and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. While I don't think it should be used as a weight loss tool if gluten isn't an issue for you, it is for so many of us out there. Take my story for instance. I was diagnosed with a thyroid issue a few years ago which has made it really difficult for me to lose weight. It just so happened to hit right after I had my daughter, so I'm still dealing with the baby weight. Fun. You may remember how I detailed my body confidence journey in my How to Feel Fabulous in Your Swimsuit post.
After trying to lose the weight on my own for years, I finally turned to a nutritionist who suggested I try going gluten free. As much as I've learned to accept my new normal, that doesn't mean I've given up trying to be in the best shape I can be, so I'm definitely willing to try new methods to help me achieve my goals.
Thankfully, gluten free living has become so mainstream, it's not particularly hard to implement. Full disclosure, I'm moving slowly by replacing things here and there to see what works. And I'm starting with snacks. While I'm trying to eat as little processed foods as possible, sometimes a girl just needs a snack on the go...and that's where these gluten free goodies come into play!
