When I think about summer wardrobe staples, tank tops are definitely at the TOP, excuse the pun, of my list. They work with everything from skinnies to skirts and there is little else I want to rock when the temperatures are at their highest then a comfy tank top.
I prefer to wear my tanks on the loose side so they breathe. Loose, but not super oversized is the name of the game. Tribal prints, stripes and graphics all seem to be calling my name right now...I know many of you have fall fashion on the brain, and believe me I do too, but I haven't put my summer style thoughts away just yet. I have a few months of HOT weather ahead of me still here in Tampa. Plus, tanks make perfect layering pieces and will transition beautifully when fall arrives.
The next piece on my summer must haves list hasn't been there for many moons. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I'm loving cut offs this year. Now keep in mind that cut offs haven't graced this mama's bod since college. And it's been, ahem, a few years since I snagged that diploma. Even after they came back in style with the darling music festival crew in recent years, I still wasn't sure how I felt about the trend. I'm in my thirties after all. Can I really wear cut offs? The answer is YES. Age appropriate cut offs DO exist. I finally accepted that fact this season and that's when cut offs officially snuck onto my lust list.
It looks like they just might be staying there for a bit as I'm on a mission to find the perfect pair to hang in my room and inspire me to keep up the workouts! You won't be catching me in super short shorts. That ship has sailed, but a pair of cut offs with a reasonable rise that will show off the stems I'm working so hard on getting in shape...I can get behind that!
