Born Fit makes fitness apparel for moms and moms-to-be that is high function and high fashion. You know a mom had to be behind this brand. Julie Hill is co-founders of BornFit fitness apparel. The mom of two and Colorado native grew up among the stunning Rocky Mountains and still loves to play outdoors.
With her partner Lisa Welch, Julie dreamed up a brand that would get moms out hiking and in the outdoors through pregnancy and beyond. The passionate ladies are so keen on the outdoors they use the names on Colorado peaks in the clothing line. Golf, tennis, running? They've got great looking outfits to suit your needs.
In addition to great gear, Julie aims to keep moms motivated with the Born Fit Blog. This year she's got some big goals (hello, this is a marathon calling)--good thing she's got the right gear.
Fitness goal for 2010:Run a marathon and climb Long's Peak.
Biggest fitness accomplishment: I have always been an active person. However, consistent, more intense exercise became more and more sporadic after having kids and getting tied up with everything else a working Mom has to do every day. For my 35th birthday (Sept., 2008), I made a commitment to re-commit to a regular exercise program. My biggest accomplishment is feeling confident and comfortable--more now than any other time in my life!

My favorite time of the day to workout:MORNING, otherwise, it doesn't happen.
My sneaky fitness trick:Whenever I start feeling like I want to take a break or quit, I think of all the people who physically do not have the ability to workout and I say to myself, "why are you doing this?'" The answer is "because I CAN!"
Why I workout: It makes me feel good physically and mentally. I am much more confident. I also want to show my children that exercise is fun and there are many ways to be physically fit. It makes me happy when my 4 year old daughter starts doing crazy moves around the house and says, 'Look Mom, I'm doing my exercises!'
Favorite fitness brand (shoe, apparel, etc.):My favorite apparel brand is BornFit and shoe brand is New Balance.
I'd like to try _boxing this year to keep my routine fresh.
Best workout song ever:Eye of the Tiger, who's not motivated by Rocky? Maybe that is why I want to try boxing, just fitness boxing though, I don't want anyone to actually hit me!
A typical week's worth of workouts looks like:I try to get in 3-4 days per week (1 -1 ½ hours each). I typically combine cardio and weight training in each session. I like to mix things up though so recently started taking a step aerobics class 3 days/week which I haven't done in years/ I would hike everyday if I could and need to incorporate more hikes into 2010!
I stay motivated by: I know how I feel when I'm not working out and I know how I feel when I am, that is all the motivation I need!
