Fall accessories are simply the best. In summer I want to keep things simple. In spring I tend to let bright clothing have her moment, in the winter I want to bundle. In the fall, I embrace all the yummy accessories our there. This fall I've rounded up a few of my favorites and put together and accessories-based look.
First let's talk about backpacks. They are so, so trendy right now. If you don't know the brand Herschel Supply Co., you should. The bags are incredibly well-priced and offer noteworthy colors and prints. Don't let the kids have all the fun with backpacks, stash your stuff in one and go. This one is called the Pop Quiz Backpack ($69)--cute!. And yes, my daughter's have 'em too.
Of course your phone has a clock on it. But that doesn't mean that watches are dead. On the contrary, they are making a fashion comeback. Call me old school, but I love the look of a watch on my wrist. This fashion find is from the Fossil Women's collection ($115). Like the backpack, I spotted it on Amazon Fashion.
Boots might be THE best reason to love fall fashion. I'm still swooning over booties--they are so comfortable and easy to style. I predict you will be seeing the Joie Women's Barlow Bootie ($325) on me many, many times this fall. All three accessories can be found on Amazon. The site is trying to amp up the fashion component--and they are doing a good job, I just wish they would get better lifestyle photography. The white backgrounds are fine, but a little boring. Perhaps, that's why they sent out this goody package of accessories--to get and idea of how to style the accessories. Hey Amazon, I'm always up for a fashion assignment!
Now that you know about the accessories, here's how I put the rest of the look together. I wanted a daytime vibe. Cashmere is no longer for special occasions only. Lands' End has a cashmere top that works for all four seasons of the year($159). It's all about how you layer it. For the fall, I added a white tee underneath. It's a lightweight top that drapes like a t-shirt.
On the bottom I added some tights (which seam to keep my legs as warm as leggings) and this nifty little LOFT faux leather mini skirt. That's right, no animals had to die for this. The faux mini ($69.50) is a favorite of mine for fall. It's not much of a splurge, but still looks great with everything from super fancy to casual.
