My name is Lauren and I have a problem.
I am addicted to buying my children Christmas outfits...
Christmas outfits that will probably get worn once this year before being thrown into our ever-growing abyss of retired kids’ clothes. (But I’ll always have that Instagram memory!)
After getting a decent head-start on my little ones’ Xmas ensembles, I finally decided to cut myself off a few weeks ago. Cold-turkey style... It hurt, but I had more than enough options for our holiday greeting cards, family parties, Santa visits, and gingerbread-building photo ops. I had also reached* my spending limit. (*Reached and surpassed, I should say…) It was time to call it quits.
But then I checked my inbox and found the cutest email alert from the sweetest brand: “New Holiday Outfits From Jojo Maman Bébé.” Ohhhhhh, it couldn’t hurt to just take a peek, right?... (I mean, Grant does have that preschool Christmas party!)
The British brand has the most adorable collection of cashmere-blend sweaters, corduroys dresses, and cheeky toddler Christmas shirts. (As one of the top children’s and maternity clothing retailer in the UK, the company just recently launched e-commerce in the U.S.—and, BTW, their non-holiday attire is equally stylish!)
This delightful reindeer sweater ($49) is a super-soft cashmere-mix that’s casual enough for everyday wear (at least in December!), but can also be dressed up for a festive outing or fun holiday fete. And, yes, its machine-washable!
Okay, so if you’re on my holiday-card list, LOOK AWAY! It was cold out when we went to meet Santa, so I figured why not dress my littles in their matching JoJo Maman Bebe reindeer outerwear. (So, spoiler alert, this is what they're wearing in our annual card!) Fleecy and soft, both the hoodie ($39) and onesie ($45) are so warm, cushy, and cozy. My kids were literally hot sweaty reindeer sitting on Santa’s lap. (You would’ve thought they’d been flying his sleigh all night!)
Every little lady needs a feminine holiday dress (at least for pictures!). This soft corduroy dress ($49) features traditional smocking and embroidery in front. It’s absolutely darling. Now if only I could get her to keep a matching headband on.
This might be my favorite of all our Jojo picks. It’s a striped shirt ($29) featuring a dinosaur masquerading as Rudolph –how silly and kitschy and funny and sweet is that?!? My three year old is somewhat dino-obsessed at the moment (and he loves Christmas lights!), so this tee-shirt has been his standby style staple as of late. What do you know a Christmas outfit that wasn't immediately retired after one wear! In fact, all of these pieces have been on heavy rotation this month…
Perhaps I should get a few more outfits from JoJo… Just one or two… I’ll just take a quick browse. Couldn’t hurt…
