Fore! Here's a chance for NYC kids to learn golf for free. CityParks Golf, presented by the René Lacoste Foundation, makes it fun and easy for boys and girls ages 6 to 17 to learn to play golf. These FREE golf lessons, held in public parks and on citywide courses, makes the sport of golf accessible to NYC kids of all skill levels.
As with all City Parks Foundation kids sports programs, the emphasis is not only on learning the basics of a given sport, but also in developing self-esteem, discipline, and sportsmanship. The program gives kids a chance to improve their skills and ultimately try out for the CityParks Intermediate Program and Junior Golf Academy - a specialized program for dedicated young golfers.
CityParks Golf is open to New York City residents only. Participants are accepted on a first-come basis. You will be notified by mail if you have been placed into your requested program. Free use of equipment is available at all lessons. To download the Spring 2010 Golf Schedule and the REQUIRED Registration go here.
