City Parks Free Summer Arts Programs

Run out of ideas of ways to keep the kids entertained? CityParks Kids’ 2010 has a few FREE ideas that run until August 11th. With dance performances, storytelling, poetry readings, magic shows, musical acts and sing-a-longs, CityParks Kids engages city youth in the arts and culture of the diverse communities of the city.

Highlights of the 2010 CityParks Kids July programming include:

Thaddeus Rex: A performance that blends the energy of rock with the sensibility of folk music.

*July 27th at 10:30 a.m.-Columbus Park, Manhattan
*July 28th at 11:00 a.m.-Pelham Bay Park’s Playground for All Children, Bronx
*July 29th at 10:30 a.m.-Underwood Park, Brooklyn
*July 30th at 10:30 a.m.-Sara D. Roosevelt, Manhattan

Zany Umbrella Circus
A new vaudeville act that mixes storytelling with circus acts and includes aerial fabric, trapeze, masks, audience interaction and puppetry.

Indigo & Her Rainbow Caravan
Sing-a-longs and sharing stories of exciting magical adventures!

*August 5th at 10:30 a.m.-Ciccarone Park, Bronx
*August 10th at 10:30 a.m.-Poe Park, Bronx
