What's the key to a great school year? A good teacher. The perfect school? A 4.0 grade-point average. Perhaps. But here at Momtrends, I think a perfect backpack can go a long way to set the right tone for the year. To kick off the back to school shopping season, I took the girls with me to my favorite Target to scoop up the perfects packs. We needed the perfect size--not too big, not too small. We needed style--not too sophisticated, definitely NOT boring. We wanted compartments. Boy did we head to the right spot. We looked at hundreds of backpacks. From college kids to itty bitties just starting pre-k, there's a pack for everyone at Target. Finally we found the winners. Starpoint Backpack With Headphones Cats & Mustaches ($26.99) and the Starpoint Backpack With Headphones Rainbow Animal ($26.99). Both are on temporary price cuts! They were the perfect size for my grade-schoolers and the prints were fantastic. Plus, they got a set of headphones with each pack. But it wasn't just backpacks, there was the gear we needed to put inside. Specifically, the lunches. My serving containers had seen better days, so I wanted to update the re-usable containers for sandwiches and veggies. Plus I wanted to find a few surprises to make the first week of school extra fun. Here's what we added to the cupboards for making the 180 required lunches this year. We got Rubbermaid containers, and refreezable packs (they keep sandwiches from getting yucky), two new re-usable drink containers and lots more. Check out our recap video of the haul:
