Over the course of the year I have tested out a lot of baby carriers. Some were amazing, while others lacked some key features - like comfort - that is essential to me in a carrier. I hate carriers that say they offer support - specifically back support - and leave me aching at the end of the day. Over the course of my babywearing adventures, I had the chance to test out the ERGObaby and I am proud to say that I have found one that I love and use almost everyday.
When I had my first daughter, I knew very little about baby products and placed items on my baby registry that I thought I needed (diaper warmer, anyone?), which also included a carrier that I used for about a month before those pesky back issues came creeping up. I noticed the Ergo on those seasoned moms and heard nothing but good about it - especially how it could last from birth until a child is 45 pounds. For my second daughter, I was also excited to test out the new very stylish ERGObaby Galaxy Grey Carrier from their spring line to make our everyday easier and more comfortable while on-the-go. I was immediately drawn to this unique pattern featuring white stars and a cool insert with modern swirls and stars. Appealing to my style was done, but the real test would be in with its functionality.
For about two months now I have been wearing this carrier. I wear it to pick my older daughter up from school or when I go to the grocery store. Personally, I love the bonding of babywearing and found an immediate sense of warmth from this carrier as my baby sat comfortably in a seated positon. How it works is the ERGObaby "distributes a baby's weight evenly across your hips and shoulders so you can enjoy being close to your baby while having your hands free."

I loved this feeling as my baby rested, slept or looked around without having to feel like she was tugging or pulling at my back. It was also easy to put on that could also be worn in the front, back or hip position. Made of breathable materials and 100% Cotton, I also really appreciated additional features like its large zippered pouch that I also used for my keys, MetroCard, lipgloss, ID or cell phone - making it easy to travel for short trips as well as provided for easy access to items that I needed right away. Another huge bonus is the sleeping hood, a cover that shielded my baby from the brutal sun during her naps. Easy to adjust thanks to its 5 snap levels, it also supported her head and neck while she slept.
The line also includes the new infant padded insertthat is made of a breathable mesh exterior and a wicking knit interior that was designed to support the head and neck of a newborn baby (starting at 7 pounds) baby while keeping you and your baby cool. The line also includes some stylish new patterns like the Frolicking in Fez with fabrics from Petunia Pickle Bottom, the Organic Lattice Carrier, the Original Outback Carrier and the uber chic Original Zebra Carrier.
Like a comfortable pair of shoes, I now wear my functional and flexible ERGOBaby everywhere I go - providing the ultimate comfort and closeness for both me and my growing baby.
