There are some super books out there that will prompt your child to be excited about school. Hopefully they are already (we know you parents are), but if not, set them up with these picks to soothe the end-of-summer blues.

My Name Is Not Isabella: This cute story about a girl who wants to be a dozen things is perfect for any kid who is constantly imagining what they want to be when they grow up. Jennifer Fosberry creates a simple yet intriguing way of presenting history; even a grown up could learn something new! She incorporates the importance of being yourself through the accomplishments of women such as Sally Ride, Annie Oakley, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie, and Elizabeth Blackwell. And at the end of the book, she gives you a brief biography and a picture of each woman.

Girls' Life Series: These new guides are great for the girls entering middle school. Topics on how to break free from the bratty girls, keep your cool under test-pressure, and how to keep your skin clean are perfect for tweens. While they are geared for the older set, there are some good things to bring up to your grade-schooler. (Like keeping your confidence, doing your best, and maintaining a healthy body image).
