We've been isolating up in Vermont since March 12th. Our new normal involves staying in and homeschool. This little state is doing great things to stop the spread and one huge way to help is to mask up when you go outside to exercise or get supplies. We posted our face mask tutorials a few weeks ago, and now we're sharing tips for staying safe at home with pre-made face mask resources.
Getting Masks on Everyone
Local governments are asking residents to stay home and stay safe. When we do venture out, we're advised by the CDC to wear a masks to stop the transmission of COVID. Jaanuu, a contemporary medical apparel brand has just launched protective face masks for adults and children. The new line of antimicrobial-finished face masks are available in a variety of colors and patterns for both adults and children.
Jaanuu masks come in multi-packs. A pack of 5 is $25 and there are tons of prints. I've ordered the "glamping" print shown. The masks feature:
- Exterior Fabric: Antimicrobial finished, moisture-wicking, breathable, soft scrubs fabric
- Interior Fabric: Lined in cotton for comfort
- Soft ear loops for easy wear (loop length: 6")
- Each set of 5 is bagged in antimicrobial-finished fabric
Note: Antimicrobial coatings do not protect against COVID-19.

Jaanuu Gives Back
When you purchase your masks from Jaanuu you are helping support our neediest community members. One mask is being donated for each mask sold through online purchases on www.jaanuu.com with a commitment to donate up to 1,000,000 masks.
Along with other local organizations, Jaanuu will be donating 100,000 of the pledged masks to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization that provides children living in poverty with basic necessities every child deserves.
“As parents and co-founders, it’s incredibly important to my sister Dr. Neela Sethi, a practicing pediatrician, and I to support kids and their families in need with our mask donation program, along with helping to protect the wider population by providing quality masks. Baby2Baby has been working around the clock to get diapers, hygiene, formula and now masks into the hands of children impacted by COVID-19. They have now distributed 7 million essential items to some of the most vulnerable families across the country.”

Old Navy Face Masks for the Family
On May 17th Old Navy will start shipping the family mask packs. Get an adult 5-pack and a kids 5-pack – with five masks per pack for just $12.50.
Old Navy is using its excess fabric in the creation of the masks, and as a result, each pack of masks will feature a wide range of different prints and patterns. As a way to sustainably source the mask materials, Old Navy is only offering “surprise” packs – shoppers cannot choose which fabric they will receive, as featured colors and fabric will change depending on what is available.
Each 3-ply non-medical grade mask is made of 100% cotton poplin, meets the guidelines from Kaiser and is reusable after washing. The masks are recommended for kids ages 4+ and should not be put on children under the age of two, in compliance with CDC recommendations.
In addition to making affordable masks widely available for purchase, Old Navy is making a donation of 50,000 masks to its longtime partner, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Many clubhouses have remained open and operational as a safe place for kids and families in underserved communities throughout this time. .
