It's official everyone; the social season is upon us.  Although summer hasn't officially started, school's are letting out, and the weather is heating up.

In my family, this means we are headed outdoors for more fun in the sun. By means of grilling, entertaining guests, and playing in the water the time is now to make the most of family time.

So, what do you need to be the hostess with the most? A signature drink to keep the whole neighborhood talking about your cookout!  

Or, if you attend festivities rather than host them, be a dear and show up with this fantastic sangria as a gift for the hostess.  We all know she has her hands full and showing up with a special gift like this is sure to brighten her day.

This weekend I will be using this very sparkling rose sangria cocktail for my signature drink at my Memorial Day cookout.  

It's so good and it's super simple to whip up for a crowd.  You can make it ahead, but be careful not to make it too far ahead because it can go flat on you.  Stick to an hour or so, that way all the flavors can marry and it has time to chill.  


Of course, you don't need a crowd to enjoy the sweetness of summer flavors in this sangria.  It can be the perfect partner for a day lounging in the sun or at the pool.  

So, what do you need to make this lively libation?

Sparkling Rose' Summer Sangria Cocktail

Sparkling Summer Sangria Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1/2 cup peach schnapps
  • 1 1/2 cups peach juice
  • 1 bottle dry sparkling rose'
  • 3 peaches, sliced
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced

Sparkling Summer Sangria Recipe

  1. Wash all produce and slice and add to your pitcher.  
  2. Add the peach juice and peach schnapps to the pitcher and stir.
  3. Add the sparkling rose' and mix well.  
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.  
  5. Serve over ice if you prefer.  

I like to serve mine without ice. You can also garnish your glasses with a sugared rim. However, I think the cocktail is sweet enough, and the sugared rim makes it a little too sweet for my tastes. Use your discretion and enjoy!
