One of the biggest perks of working in a small office is the ability to share favorite reads. Listening to an audiobook while taking care of business makes the day fly by. Our latest guilty pleasure is I Owe You One written by New York Times bestselling author Sophie Kinsella, read by Fiona Hardingham. Escaping to London each day has become quite the adventure as we listen intently to the trials and tribulations of the entertaining Fixie Farr. A typical rule follower, she lives by her father's motto ... family first. When he passes away, Fixie, her mom, and siblings must do their best to carry on running the family business, a housewares store in need of a make-over.
One day, Fixie stops by the local coffee shop where she agrees to keep an eye on a laptop for a handsome stranger. When she saves it from a near disaster, Sebastian, an investment manager, scribbles an IOU as repayment for her quick thinking. As is typical of Fixie, she uses it to secure a job for her so-called Hollywood boyfriend and childhood crush, Ryan. When things begin to change, a series of IOUs transpire between Fixie and Seb, all with the intention of her helping others and not herself.
