I decided to be brave and take the kids to NYC by myself last weekend. We were going into Manhattan to see the big Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, grab some pizza at Patsy’s, and have a peek at those iconic department store holiday window scenes. In my mind, this was going to be a festive, dreamy, totally idyllic December outing.
Of course, I momentarily forgot that when traveling with little kids, the best laid plans often go astray... (And the mostly potty-trained kiddos oft have to pee! Ha.)
Needless to say, we found ourselves desperately searching for a coffee shop that would allow us to use their facilities in the middle of Manhattan. And, yes, we eventually located a Starbucks (of course!), but the restroom was neither clean nor convenient.
Parents know that kids have frequent bathroom emergencies (heck, it happens to the best of us). My little guy has a serious case of FOMO and will wait to the very last second to finally admit he has to go... and then we have to find a bathroom (any bathroom!) STAT!
I know I’m not alone in my potty-quest frustration. Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, the dynamic power and parenting duo, know a thing or two about NYC bathroom emergencies with littles in tow. That’s why Daddy Dax teamed up with Charmin to launch their brand new pop-up #EnjoytheGo potty experience in Times Square.
No-Churn Brown Sugar Peach Ice Cream
Recently, our family went to a local farm that was having a Peach Festival. We started our day off with peaches and pancakes and then we all hopped on tractors and rode out to the orchard to do our own peach picking! We turned those summer peaches into a delicious ice cream. I'm ...read more

Fresh Summer Peach Cocktail Recipe
August is National Peach Month, but you already probably knew that from the sweet, rosy golden globes lining the farmer's market rows. Along with cold, ripe watermelon and sweet corn, there are few things that scream summer more than a delicious, juicy peach. While it would be a ...read more
The Charmin Restrooms, on Broadway between 48th and 49th Streets, feature 14 sparkling, clean, and immersive private bathrooms—each with a unique theme—so tourists, locals, and commuters can pop in and ,um, relieve themselves in the sports loo, the fireworks lavatory, the disco washroom, the Mt. Everest bathroom, or even the fancy theatrical toilet–the "main attraction" if I do say so myself!
Momtrends was on hand to help Dax and Kristen celebrate the launch of the Charmin Restrooms–we even witnessed the official toilet-paper ribbon cutting ceremony. And, for the record, Dax christened the movie theater themed bathroom, and proclaimed it was "just number one."
"I'm in New York City with the family a lot, and trying to find a public restroom is harder than you may think, let alone one that doesn't require a hazmat suit... I want to help give the gift of comfort and cleanliness to a city I love, which is why I'm teaming up wit Charmin to bring Charmin Restrooms to Times Square. Throughout the holiday season, these mini-sanctuaries will be Roman baths for your bottom," Shepard said.
Now, through December 24 from 10 AM to 10 PM, you can do your business in an under-the-sea bathroom, a magazine shrine, or 12 other amazing installations. Each features luxury amenities, visual and auditory enhancements, and soft and plush Charmin toilet paper for your cleansing convenience! Best of all, they clean the stalls between each use--making it far better than any other NYC bathroom you'll find on the fly and on the go!
Happy holidays... and #EnjoytheGo ... with a little help from Charmin!
