I'm sure you've heard about the recently released live action version of Cinderella. My lil' lady bean is only two and might be a bit too young for the flick, but she can play princess dress up with the best of them. I always have a dress up chest on hand that's filled with fun goodies to help encourage her creative play. While I have nothing against all the gizmos and gadgets that have come with this technological age we're in, I also believe in good old fashioned play time where imagination is the most important component.
Keeping your New Year's resolutions
The New Year is off to a fresh start, and many of us are committed to doing something or many things with more intention this year. But it's tough to stay on track. In fact, “Quitters Day”, which falls on January 14th this year, is the day when most people give up. How can you ...read more

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe

That's where the dress up chest comes in. Ours is stocked with all kinds of princess dresses, tiaras, baubles and more that my daughter can rummage through to her heart's content. Now she may play princess more than her fair share of the time, but that doesn't mean she doesn't race around the house in a fireman's hat on the regular either. No matter what she's pretending to be, mama's thrilled to see her using her imagination! Watching her act out elaborate "scenes" that she makes up in her tiny head gives me a lovely glimpse at the little creative soul that is forming and I plan on continuing to foster that creativity at every opportunity.
She even lets me join in the fun sometimes. She doesn't quite understand why her princess dresses don't fit me however. But a tiara, that's another story. You can find me doing the dishes in a tiara. I jest of course...Or do I? Haha! So, maybe I don't do housework decked out like a princess, but I sure don't mind a little early evening dress up play. The spring weather has been so beautiful here...So, we took advantage of it and toted our dress up gear outside.
Do you play dress up at your house too?
