New Pregnancy Book Combines Science and Experience
Are you expecting or thinking trying? The new book 9 Months In, 9 Months Out: A Scientist's Tale of Pregnancy and Parenthood is a must-have for parents ready for this journey. This new pregnancy book combines science and experience.
Better Pregnancy Books
Decades ago, I remember reading all the pregnancy books, many of which were written by men. I discarded many of them, because HOW WOULD THEY KNOW! Don't get me wrong, I trust science, but I also think no one knows a woman's body like a woman (hence why I have all female doctors).
This new pregnancy book from Oxford University Press is written by Vanessa LoBue and she's combining her expertise and her experience. LoBue (aka The Baby Scientist from www.psychologytoday.com) is an associate professor of psychology at Rutgers University-Newark. There she specializes in infant and child development. Thanks to her hefty education, LoBue brings a ton of clinical knowledge about how babies grow, but what makes this book different is that the scientist makes things personal.
LoBue takes us along for HER pregnancy journey, from family planning and worrying about the impact of a baby upon her career to conception and delivery, we are in for the full ride The new mom tells it like it is writing month-to-month in real time. If you like scientific details and insightful explanations, this is the book for you.
