Vacation

Like most families we will be traveling this summer. While we love this time, it also means long hours on the road via a plane, train or automobile. To stay prepared (and hopefully avoid the chorus of "Are we there yet"?), we located some key products for families and kids to stay occupied as well as those to make your vacation (almost) a breeze.

While on the road:

We love music on the road, and some of our favorite kid CDs are the new Putumayo CD, American Playgroundfeaturing summertime family parties like 'She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain,' 'You Are my Sunsine,' 'This Land is Your Land' and much more!

We love learning on-the-go, and one way to focus on education for the younger set is with ABC cards from Alpha Cards. Designated for boys (girls love them, too), these cards a great way for your kids to connect with their ABC's through these hilarious cards like T is for Toilet and F is for Fox and Fun. You and your kids will be laughing your way through these cards as they learn in the process.

Another option that we love for the kids the collection of discs Whistlefritz, the award-winning producer of language immersion CDs and DVDs . They recently launched the release of The Complete Spanish Collectiona boxed set containing seven award-winning volumes from Whistlefritz’s acclaimed Spanish for Kidsseries. Packed with interactive fun, laughter, and music, The Complete Collection allows children to learn at their own pace through engaging blend of live action, animation, playful characters, and festive Latin music.

Travel Journal

We also really love the concept of our kids being connect to their travels, and one way to do so is via a journal like the new Explorer Journalfrom Children Inspire Design. Perfect for kid travelers, this cool journal allows kids to stay connected to the moment and illustrate and write all about their travels and discoveries.

Snacks on the road:

Another staple for any travel adventure is snacks. Some of our favorites are KIND barswith their newest flavors – Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Chili Almond. As we drive or find ourselves juggling on train or plane, this treats are just want moms need that also happen to be packed with protein and antioxidants. We also love the bars from Kidz ZonePerfect, a kid-friendly line featuring 23 vitamins and minerals, five grams of protein and three grams of fiber. They are available in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Caramel Crunch, and Yellow Cupcake.

We also love the low-sugar coconut drinks from Vita Coco Kids where kids can enjoy refreshing flavors like Very Berry Cherry, Apple Island and Paradise Punch. For babies and toddlers, we love the cups from BornFree including the Training Cup, Drinking Cup, and Straw Cup that are all BPA-free and no drip for life on-the-road.

We also love Summer Infant, and their essentials for travel like the Tiny Diner, a tray that is great for feeding on-the-go and

We hope that you are going to be enjoying some time at a pool or the beach, and one of favorite new vibrant cover-ups is from Simple Sarongs.
