Survive the Summer with Sittercity

I love my children - dearly - but now that summer is here, I'm seeing them a lot. Which is great - time for adventures! time for play! time for exploring! - but it also means that I find myself craving time away too. Time to connect with my girlfriends for lunch or with my husband for a night out. I'm lucky enough to have a neighbor next door that I swap babysitting with but if you're without a quality sitter, we love Sittercity for finding quality, reliable sitters whether you're looking for a night out once a month or someone to watch your kids weekly.

Sittercity provides detailed caregiver profiles, reviews from other parents and background checks to ensure your sitter is safe (you'll still want to contact a phone interview, in-person interview and check with the references the sitter lists.) One of the reasons we love Sittercity is that it can help you find babysitters with the specific experience you need like a sitter who is comfortable around your fun-loving dog, has experience working with an child with ADD or autism or has watched children with diabetes or a hearing impairment before.

Summer Sitter

Finding a sitter with Sittercity takes three simple steps.

1) Sign up and post your position. List the number of child you have, the time you need a sitter (one-time, occasionally or regularly) and any sitter requirements such as experience with twins or autism. Choose from a free or paid Sittercity profile - a free profile lets you view many sitters for free, but you will need to subscribe in order to contact them. A full membership ($35 for one month, $70 for 3 months or $140 for a year) provides detailed profiles of babysitters, access to their references, a free background check and the ability to contact sitters you're interested in pursuing. (Momtrends readers - save 30% off a 3-month membership w/ code SUMMER30. Expires 6/30/14) Sittercity membership is free for members of the military too!
