Samsung's Stylish New Tablet

tab feature

It seems like tablets are the flavor of the month in the world of technology. I've resisted the siren call of the iPad (and still giggle at the name--I know, I know I am immature), but couldn't resist when Samsung offered to send me off to BlogHer in August with an new Galaxy Tablet.

Sleek and small, the tablet is a marriage of a smartphone and a notebook computer. It's got the functionality and speed I need to stay hyper-connected to my social network. The Galaxy allowed me to email, post to facebook and tweet with speed and ease.

At the Samsung information booth, I got to learn about the cool functions of the Galaxy--things I probably wouldn't have found on my own.

I used the Galaxy as an e-reader, camera, camcorder, laptop and notebook--all in the course of a few days.

The touch-screen never flustered me.

What really stood out was the picture quality. The Galaxy took excellent HD videos as well as sharp photos--though it does look a little awkward to hold something this large up for a quick snapshot.

What I loved:
Speedy connections
High Definitions picture
Access to all my Droid apps
Watching videos--is so much more rewarding on the Galaxy

What I didn't:
Call me old-fashioned by I still love a key-board. I do a lot of writing and corresponding, and can't tap it all out as quickly with the touch pad.
No USB connection for fast sharing of photos--you've got to be connected to the Internet to share.
Propping up the tablet was a bit of a pain. I'd need to get an easel to make this more suitable for movie viewing.
