Swinging in the Breeze: Nuna Leaf {Review}

There's the swing that goes front to back and the bouncer that buzzes and bounces but what about a product that sways back and forth like a leaf in the breeze? And what about a product that does that with out any electricity? The Nuna company has designed just that. The Nuna Leaf is designed to give children (I say children because it can be used up to 130 pounds!) the feeling of freely swaying back and forth.

Nuna Leaf Review

When I first opened the box what struck me at first was the fact that the materials were amazingly soft and cozy feeling and the color was nice and muted. I have lots of fun baby items scattered about but it's nice every once in awhile to have something that actually matches our decor. The insert is organic cotton and for inquiring minds: yes, it washes fabulously. We found that out the hard way.

The Leaf goes from in the box to completely usable in less than two minutes. You just need to take the stand and the actual seat and snap them together. That's it. No screwdrivers, hunting for batteries, or complicated 5 step installs here.

The Leaf functions without electricity. Mom, dad, sibling can give the baby a gentle push and they will start swaying. I LOVE the lack of electricity because it means it's totally portable and I don't have to worry about making sure there is an outlet nearby to plug it into or extra batteries in case they run out. But, it only sways for a few minutes and then stops because it needs the continual motion to keep moving. As babies get older and more active I think they will be able to wiggle and move it themselves but my 2 month old can't do that yet so I have to give her an extra push every now and then.

What's great about the Leaf is that it isn't a baby item that after a few months is going to get packed away. Since it goes up to 130 pounds it can easily transition from a baby seat to a kid-friendly chair. I had my 7 year old hop in to give it a try and she said, Mommy this is so fun I want my own Leaf!"
