Mini Spring Style Pick: Moccasins

There's not much in life that thrills me more than styling looks for my little girl. While I love my rough and tumble little dude to the moon and back, I have to admit, that a part of me was so elated when I found out I was having a daughter because I had a feeling she would love fashion just as much as her mama does. And, thankfully, I was right. In fact, one of her favorite parts about getting dressed each day is picking out her shoes. She has quite the foot candy collection and much of it is made of Freshly Picked moccasins. They're a bit of an addiction pour moi. From metallics, to pastels and even neons, you name it...we have them. So, we were psyched to add a fun new warm weather ready pair to the mix.

I will say there is a practical side to my addiction. You would be amazed at how versatile moccasins are. My lil' lady bean has worn them with everything from skinnies and a tunic (Yes, I said skinnies. Have you ever seen a toddler in skinny jeans? ADORBS!) to a formal dress. That's what I love so much about moccasins...They can very easily be dressed up or down. They also add a decidedly boho chic vibe to any look and considering this is something I've been trying to master for many years with not nearly as much success as my daughter...at least one of us has the boho princess thing down. Haha!

We decided to go the dressier route with today's featured look and paired a darling Appaman Seychelles dress with Freshly Picked Trip to the Tropics Moccasins. These palm tree embossed pretties are quite fitting as my child is a Florida girl through and through. Give her some nice balmy tropical weather and she's a happy camper. And although, she's all decked out for a special occasion today, her mocs give her the freedom to run around at will. She may be girly, but she can keep up with her big bro any day!

And now that you've seen Kristin's (that's me) toddler's style, let's hear from our lovely editor Lauren and her sweet as pie baby...

My four month old is like a real-life baby doll. She puts up with me when I dress her up in over-the-top outfits, adorn her [barely there] hair with bows, and style her in ridiculous settings for Instagram photos. It’s an occupational hazard (well, for her), but, thankfully Baby P is a sport… at least for now—we’ll see how it goes one she’s mobile. (Eeks!)

While I do love putting my mini model in frilly infant frocks, itty-bitty jumpers, and lacy little numbers for special occasions, I try to keep her day-to-day ensembles pretty simple: footie pajamas, stretchies, leggings with onesies, and other baby basics. She’s my munchkin, and I want her to feel comfortable and cozy—especially when we’re lounging around the house. Of course, nowadays, babies and mamas need not sacrifice style for comfort. My girl and I can have the best of both worlds thanks to a few of our favorite brands.

A pair of Freshly Picked moccasins are one way to jazz up any baby outfit. These precious “slippers” are our new go-to. There are so many stylish, hippie, girlie, and absolutely adorable options for infants. This rose-gold “Amour” pair features a super-chic and on-trend metallic design. We styled them with a pair of jeggings (because, again, comfort comes first!), a white tunic, and a knit cardigan sweater for layering. Finally, a headband completed Little P's look. It’s such a simple, but sweet spring outfit. Oh, and best of all, her Freshly Picked mocs actually stay on, thanks to the elastic! (If you've ever tried to put shoes on an infant, then you know this is a major win.) We just might need to get a few more (translation: manymore) pairs for future fashion photos. (Like I said, "occupational hazard.")
