We are a water-drinking household, but I do like to mix it up with the occasional iced tea or coconut water.
With the summer months and a few birthday parties on the horizon I know my kids will be very active and out-and-about. Hydration is key, but to mix up drinking water a bit we are going to be enjoying new drinks from VIta Coco called Vita Coco Kids.
During a recent press event I had the chance to learn more about these refreshing new beverages for kids (ages 2 to 8) with a line of flavored coconut water drinks in flavors like Apple Island, Paradise Punch, and Very Berry Cherry.

From the makers of the best-selling coconut water, this new line contains natural, nutrient-dense and electrolyte-filled coconut water, filtered water, natural fruit flavors and vitamin C with only 35 calories per serving. AT the event, I had the chance to try some of the new flavors and I loved how light and mildly sweet they were. My issue with juice boxes is that they are loaded with sugar with no nutritional benefits. These new Vita Coco Kids' drinks don't have any of that nasty artificial sweeteners, and they contain potassium, a nutrient that both kids and adults don't get enough of.
The packaging is also a lot of fun for kids with cute characters like a monkey, parrot and a tucan that was created when Vita Coco's co-founder, Michael Kirban, father of a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old became frustrated by the artificial and sugary drinks that were marketed to kids. He added, "I know Vita Coco could create a healthier drink for kids, and we did."
The line will be available at major retailers starting in July and will retail for $4.99 for a six-pack.
