If you read my columns regularly, you know that I'm a Florida girl. As I'm sure you can imagine, heavy duty outerwear isn't typically something I have to invest in. While I was born in Ohio and, from what my mom tells me, am no stranger to snow suits, I moved to the sunshine state when I was ten, so my memory of snow gear isn't the best.
I find myself, however, shopping for snow gear for my own kiddos this year as we have holiday plans to spend Christmas in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As snow is a distinct possibility, I plan on being fully prepared for that beautiful white powder. Once you get to the tiny town my family's vacation home is located in, the shopping options are pretty limited, so I need to outfit my cherubs with the proper snow gear well in advance of our trip. And I'm willing to bet that more than a few of you are experiencing pretty cold temps already, so snow gear is probably something you're already looking into too!
The lovely folks at Free Country were kind enough to send my little guy one of their jackets and it's going to be perfect for our snowy vacation. His jacket has great features like a detachable hood, zip up outer pockets and is machine washable, which is something I always appreciate. Plus, it's just darling. Both the boys and girls styles are uber cute!
As far as accessories go, I found some adorable ones at Gap Kids. From superhero gear to cheeky sayings, you don't have to sacrifice style with Gap Kids cold weather accessories. I'm partial to the Batman ear flap hat myself. Our house is a bit superhero obsessed right now and that includes me. Haha! So, while these accessories can be found in the boys section, I think they're totally unisex. Hey, I want my own Batman hat!
