How to be Prepared for Playtime

We're an active family. With an almost seven and three old, who seem to have an unlimited supply of energy, we have no choice...Not that we would choose anything else but to focus on healthy activity! In fact, when it's nice out, you can usually find us on the go. Whether we're headed over to our neighborhood playground, going for a bike ride or even just taking a family nature walk, we love getting outside and playing with our kids.

Play is so important for their development and provides opportunities for fun family quality time too...Here's a statistic I found interesting...Kids who play do better in school. They develop the cognitive skills that are positively linked to learning and academic performance. So, clearly having a enough play time is critical...But with all that play can come boo boos.

Our lil' lady bean wiped out on a walk to the playground the other day and thanks to BAND-AID® and NEOSPORIN® products, she was back in business in no time. I always keep BAND-AID® bandages and NEOSPORIN® on hand for just these types of situations. My on the move daughter just doesn't have time to be sidelined, so I love that I could easily fix her up, bandage her knee and send her on her way to play! She wanted to hop the bike we brought right away. We would, of course, put on her helmet before we let her ride. She just didn't want to pose for a picture with one as it would mess with her laidback sunglasses atop her head look...She's the girliest tomboy you'll ever meet. Haha!

The Books Parents Need to Get Started on the College Search

We've got a high school junior and are starting to educate ourselves on the college process. I always rely on the advice of parents who've been there and experts to help me along the way. Two new books are the perfect reads for those of us embarking on this journey. Here are the more

I'm also so impressed with the BAND-AID® Brand and NEOSPORIN® Brand #playon campaign that is focused on helping families live balanced, playful and active lives! They are partnering with KaBOOM! to not only encourage play, but to ensure that families are prepared with the tools they need to tackle new adventures. They're donating first aid products, helping build new play spaces and providing very important safety tips. Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley has joined the effort as well. How cool is that initiative?

And on that note, are you prepared? Did you know that a majority of parents (53%) have been unable to care for an injury because they didn’t have the necessary first aid supplies on hand. I'd say it's time to stock up...Wouldn't you? At participating retailers, if you purchase three or more qualifying products – such as BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, NEOSPORIN® Brand products, BAND-AID® Brand First Aid products and BENADRYL®Anti-Itch topical products –you will receive a free free first aid bag.

You can even make gathering your first aid materials part of the fun...When you're getting ready to go to the playground, make it a family game or a scavenger hunt as you pack up your first aid must haves, including essentials from BAND-AID® Brand and NEOSPORIN® Brand!
