Being creative souls ourselves, we're huge supporters of the arts here at Momtrends, so when Vans offered us the opportunity to design a pair of shoes in support of the Vans Custom Culture program, a national competition aimed toward celebrating creativity, and raising awareness for declining funding in arts programs around our country, we were thrilled to join the festivities!
Nothing's cuter than the masterpieces little ones create, so we thought it made the most sense to have a couple of our tiniest mascots, my dude and lil' lady bean, design a pair of shoes for someone they loved...In this case it was their Auntie. She's about to become a first time mom and will definitely appreciate receiving a pair of doodled on Vans from her very own niece and nephew. Plus, being a former actress and high school arts program participant herself, a competition like this is right up her alley. I know she'll be rockin' these kicks proudly, knowing that they were made with such a special purpose in mind! And what an amazing Mother's day gift these custom shoes will make! All we needed were some paint markers and a fresh white pair of Vans.
So, would you like to know how to support Vans Custom Culture and art education yourself? Vote for your favorite shoes HERE to help five US high schools win a trip to New York and one U.S high school 50K for its school's art program. You can watch the fun unfold by scouting out the hashtags #vanscustomculture and #ArtEducations!
