My daughter's 5th birthday was last Saturday, but we had to due to precautions we had to postpone her party with the impending storm, Nemo on our tracks. As someone who has been counting down the days since after Christmas, she was pretty bummed, to say the least. It turned out that the storm didn't hit the NYC-area too bad so we decided to enjoy a celebration with lots of cake, some friends and family with a first-stop to create Valentine's Day crafts with Cool Mom Picks and the U.S. Postal Office.
Held in conjunction with the new Sealed with Love stamp from the U.S. Postal Office, the event included tons of delicious bites for brunch, a photo area and crafts galore. We quickly got to work by making cards for Valentine's Day using an assortment of goodies from Martha Stewart Craft including glitter, stickers and tons of shiny paper. My daughter had a blast making cards for her grandparents, and she also loved the unexpected card that Kristin (Publisher and CEO from Cool Mom Picks) made for her.
After our cards were finished we were able to mail them and sealed them with the new Sealed with Love stamp. Created by Graphic designer Louise Fili, art director Derry Noyes on this stamp and illustrator Jessica Hische, the new stamp has a Victorian feel complete with an elegant wax seal. It is also featured a heart in a deep shade of red that is surrounded by a circle with the simple saying 'forever' etched on the bottom.
Living in a digital time, it was great to see my daughter enjoy the simplicity of crafting and crafting we we made our own cards for Valentine's Day and spent her birthday with art, family and friend.
The Sealed with Love stamp is being issued as a Forever® stamp in self-adhesive sheets of 20. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce rate.
