With kiddos ranging from babies to toddlers and beyond in our family, we've tried out a slew of contraptions in the effort to convince our wee ones that meal time is a pretty fabulous thing and not the dreaded task they make it out to be. My ten month old nephew, for instance, has a very delicate palette and prefers his mama's homemade baby food to anything more convenient. My three year old, on the other hand, can't be bothered take the time to sit down at the table and actually consume a meal.
Luckily, we've added some new gadgets to the equation that are making meal time easier for both le baby and le toddler...We love watching my nephew, but I'm guessing his mama, aka my sister, would not be too jazzed if he didn't you know...eat. Haha! But let's first talk about the bigger issue, his food refusing cousin.
1. Booster seat...Like I said, my darling girl is constantly on the go and doesn't want to waste precious time eating, so I have to find ways to entice her. That could mean everything from making fun shapes with food on her plate, setting up a carpet picnic or even giving her a cool new booster seat to sit on. This booster cushion from Luv Chicken is doing the job right now. She can't get enough of sitting on it! In fact, it's so fun for her, she's willing to entertain her food.
2. Homemade baby food...My favorite little guy adores his mama's homemade baby food and his auntie loves that his mom can make it ahead of time and bring it over for me when it's babysitting time. Mastrad Baby makes tiny storage pots that are just perfect for the transport. They're even freezer friendly. I'm all about the convenience factor. Who's with me?!
3. Feeding tools...And they can both use the darling bowl and utensils from My Natural. The eye catching colors and animal designs appeal to the kiddos, of course, and I love that they're not only dishwasher safe, but also made from natural plant based materials and BPA, Phthalate and PVC free!
