Taco Night Clean-Up Made Easy

tacos (1)

When in doubt at dinnertime, we eat tacos! Taco Tuesday, Taco Wednesday, Taco Thursday, Taco Friday… it doesn’t matter to us! Every evening is fiesta-worthy with queso, corn, and guacamole galore!

Gimme spicy beef, sliced steak, or chipotle chicken—I don’t discriminate. Bring on all the fixings—homemade pico, fresh jalapeños, and cabbage slaw! If it can be served with rice and a mean margarita, I’ll happily have dinner ready in thirty minutes flat.

I especially love setting up a build-your-own taco bar! It’s a great midweek meal option for the fam and a super-fun alternative for entertaining guests! It’s definitely my go-to solution and signature entree. Easy, breezy, and super delicious to boot.

Of course, there is one downside to taco night?

The inevitable mess! Yes, tacos are awesome, but they often result in major kitchen mayhem—stains, splotches, and dirty counters are all par for the course.

My kiddos are definitely guilty of making taco-night extra chaotic. They love to sprinkle the cheese everywhere and scoop the salsa all over themselves. Without fail, they manage to drip ground-meat grease on their pants; and I seriously think more guac gets on their shirts than in their bellies. But, you know what? They have fun with their food and enjoy our family time together, so it’s all good with me—even if it does mean a little extra effort scrubbing dishes, wiping splattered sour cream off cabinets, and cleaning queso seemingly from every crack and corner of the house.

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe

We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family ...read more

Luckily, I have a secret weapon (besides my favorite habanero hot sauce!) to streamline the taco-night insanity: Clorox® Regular-Bleach2 with CLOROMAX™ Technology. It helps reduce soil adhesion on surfaces to protect and provide a quicker clean. That means every Taco Tuesday is proceeded by Cloromax Monday!

I pre-treat our countertops so that cleanup will be easier. Better yet, Clorox kills 99.9 percent of germs and bacteria—so mealtime is always more hygienic.

Of course, New Clorox® Regular-Bleach2 with CLOROMAX™ is also great for keeping clothes whiter, longer. That means, I don’t have to be worried dressing the kiddos (or myself!) in white pants… even on taco night!

Clorox knows that mealtime can be messy—especially when it’s Taco Tuesday! To spread word about the amazing cleaning effects of CLOROMAX™ Technlogy, the brand made a funny and kitschy Taco-Tuessday game-show inspired video—with a few seriously sloppy challenges…. All the better for cleaning with Clorox! Watch it HERE, but, fair warning: you’re going to crave tacos tonight! Get your Clorox ready.
