There are so many multivitamins out there that it can be difficult to know what is the best option for your kids. I recently had the chance to test out an eco-friendly multivitamin by the California-based Smarty Pants. Founded by parents and health care providers, Smarty Pants is focused on helping kids get the nutrients they need through their fortified multivitamin to help growing brains and bodies.
The first thing that struck me was that the vitamin was pretty low in sugar (5 grams of organic sugar cane for a serving of 4 gummies) with no high fructose corn syrup, but also, according to my daughter had the same delicious taste as other gummy vitamins that we have tried in the past. I also noticed that the texture was very chewable and shaped like a gumdrop that tastes more like a treat than a vitamin - making it very easy for kids to want to try. I also loved how the multivitamin contacted a rich concentration of Omega 3, (said to help brain development), Vitamin B-6 and B-12, Vitamin D3, Zinc, Folic Acid and DHA. Some products with fish DHA can be worrisome since you don't really know where the fish was taken from - but Smarty Pants only uses small fish sources - which helps to eliminate the risk of mercury.

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe
We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family ...read more
The company is also on a mission to help 1,000,000 kids get the nutrients they need in 5 years - so for every bottle that is purchased the company will make a 1-for-1 matching nutrient grant through the nonprofit Vitamin Angels.
As a complete vitamin for growing bodies and minds, I'm excited to have found such a nutritionally-rich vitamin for my daughter that is focused on helping kids as well as a product that is better for the environment.
