While some may be thinking about candy corns and mini KitKats, we're already wondering about what all that sugar will do to our kids' teeth. Is it any wonder that November 1 is designated as National Brush Your Teeth Day?? I'll admit - tooth brushing with my kids is not one of my favorite activities (is it anybody's??). At the end of the day, I'm thinking about the couch and a glass of wine, not standing in the bathroom helping my three boys brush. I was definitely more diligent with my first two boys, but now, with kid number three, I'm admittedly lax. (Cue stern look from our dentist.) What's a mom to do? Thanks to the new Philips Sonicare For Kids toothbrush, equipped with Bluetooth® technology, my youngest's tooth brushing has gotten longer and better, involves fewer reminders from me, and best of all, there's still plenty of time for my glass of wine.
This new Bluetooth-enabled toothbrush has all the Sonicare features you love - their patented sonic technology that provides more than 500 strokes per second and the ability to remove up to 75% more plaque in hard to reach places than a manual toothbrush. Like their other kid toothbrushes, it includes Peel-and-Stick stickers to let kids customize the look of their toothbrush (and keep siblings' brushes separate), a lightweight design making it easy for kids or parents to hold, two power levels (gentle for younger kids, regular for older kids), and a KidTimer that gradually increase to two minutes to help kids train up to the full recommended brushing time.
But THIS toothbrush is also equipped with Bluetooth technology and works in conjunction with Sonicare's free customizable coaching app featuring "Sparkly" who helps to teach kids good brushing habits, tracks and times their brushing, and rewards their progress with badges and fun new features and treats for Sparkly.
I'll admit that I was a little apprehensive about bringing the iPad into the bathroom - not something that we would normally allow, but I have to admit that it's worked! Sonicare reports that 98% of parents say that it was easier to get their kids to brush longer and better with the new Philips Sonicare For Kids, and after using the Sonicare system in our house for the last month, I can agree. My 5-year-old has been downright eager to brush his teeth twice a day! Even my older two boys love the app and always want to brush at the same time. I don't think I've had to remind my boys once to brush their teeth in the last month - instead, they are reminding me!
Parents can monitor their child’s routine by reading about their daily brushing habits on the app’s separate, parent dashboard and setting up longer range milestones and rewards to keep their child motivated.
Sonicare for Moms too!
Moms sometimes spend so much time focusing on their kids' nutrition, health and wellness that they forget about their own! Sonicare takes care of my teeth too with their new FlexCare Platinum toothbrush. Removing up to seven times more plaque between teeth than a manual toothbrush, the FlexCare Platinum comes three brushing modes (Clean, White or GumCare), three intensity levels (Low, Medium and High) as well as two different included brush heads - a traditional Sonicare brush head and their new Intercare brush that has extra long bristles to reach deep between teeth and along the gum line.
I've also been loving that, when fully charged, the toothbrush has a three week battery life! Plus it has a built-in Pressure Sensor that alerts me when I'm brushing too hard.
Clean teeth for all - thanks to Sonicare!
