With the holidays over, and resolutions kicking-off soon, we are excited to learn more about a new dietary plan called the Fast Metabolism Diet. A book, developed by Haylie Pomroy (also known as the metabolism whisperer), is a 28-day weight loss program that recently went mobile and added another tool to her successful program that streamlines weight loss and kick starts metabolism.

Haylie Pomroy:The Fast Metabolism Diet is a dynamic eating plan that strategically uses certain foods on specific days for metabolism repair and weight loss. By eating clean and choosing from a wide variety of whole foods proteins, grains, fruits, healthy fats and even desserts you give your body the fuel it needs to ignite your metabolism and burn through stored fat.
Momtrends: How is it different from other diets?
Haylie Pomroy: You wont need math skills for the Fast Metabolism Diet! We dont count calories, carbs or fat grams. You also wont be hungry. In fact, if your weight-loss goal is more than 20 pounds, youll actually eat more, not less. Variety is also key by mixing up the foods you eat, you confuse it to lose it -- confuse your metabolism and keep it guessing, breaking out of your old food ruts and bad habits.

Haylie Pomroy: The Fast Metabolism Diet App is a fantastic planning tool. Youve got all the food lists at your fingertips, so you can plan your meals and compile a grocery list. For meal planning, you can also select from more than 200 recipes featured in my book and cookbook. Momtrends: Can you describe the phases?
Haylie Pomroy: Each week, youll cycle through three distinct phases, focusing on different nutrients. In Phase 1, we focus on calming your adrenals and balancing stress hormones by eating whole grains, fruit, proteins and veggies. Phase 2 is a low-carb phase; by emphasizing proteins and alkalizing green veggies, the body is primed to build muscle. In Phase 3, you get to eat wonderful healthy fats like olive oil, avocados, hummus and raw almonds. These, along with protein, veggies, whole grains and fruit, unleash the burn, prompting the body to torch fat like crazy!
Momtrends: What can people get from the app as they lose weight?
Haylie Pomroy: The app keeps each day organized, so theres no guesswork as to which foods are on which phase. And as you continue to update your weight in the app, your portions are automatically adjusted to help you reach your goal. You can also choose to export all your meal and exercise data. I love using this feature with my clients. It lets us collaborate on fine-tuning their meals and nutrients. This feature can help you spot opportunities to increase variety in your diet. And at the end of your 28 days, you can re-use all of your planning data to add another week or additional months until you reach your goal weight.
