Have you ever needed to see a medical provider but not wanted to venture outside your home to do so? Perhaps you think you sprained your ankle or maybe you are worried your child has pink eye. Wouldn't being able to connect with a board-certified medical provider from your smartphone or computer be a game changer? Well, you're in luck. That's just what the Convenient Care Now healthcare app, brought to you by, Hackensack University Health Network, can do for you. Through this easy to use app you can speak with a doctor, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, about your minor illness or injury right from the comfort of your own home.
I, for example, have been having some pain in my side. It was bothersome enough to make me want to talk to someone to see if there was anything I could do to get some relief. I suspected that I had strained a muscle during a recent workout, but I wanted to double check and make sure there wasn't something I could be doing beyond popping a few ibruprofin . That being said, it wasn't serious enough for me to want to take the time out of my day to visit a walk in clinic or try to squeeze in an appointment at my primary doctor's office.

Thankfully, I was able to use the Convenient Care Now healthcare app to chat with a doctor right from the couch. How cool is that? I simply had to quickly create an account and select my provider of choice. It took mere minutes. Dr. Lauralee Yalden concluded that I had probably strained a muscle like I thought and suggested that I try some hydrotherapy, like a hot shower or bath and an over the counter anti-inflammatory cream like Capsaicin. While Convenient Care now providers can offer prescriptions, I didn't need one and it was awesome that I didn't have to carve out a couple hours out of my day to find that out. You can bet that I'll be using this service again!
