Green Alert: Ology is a new brand that features a line of baby and personal care products, as well as household cleaners all with your health in mind. It's been endorsed by Healthy Child Healthy World--a non-profit organization which researches best practices and products for health-minded families.
“Increasing evidence shows that the chemicals included in everyday products could be contributing to children’s diseases and behavioral disorders, including asthma, autism and cancer,” says Gigi Lee Chang, CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World, one of the nation’s leading independent non-profit organizations dedicated to the empowerment of consumers and the protection of children from harmful chemicals. “Until the U.S. adopts better regulations around product safety—like we do in other countries—parents are left to bear the burden of protecting their children’s health by educating themselves and making conscious purchases." Walgreens launched “Ology” as the first nationally accessible and affordable brand formulated to be free of harmful chemicals.

On a recent visit to the renovated and very swank Duane Reade on Wall Street--it's got a nail salon AND a juice bar!--I picked up the laundry detergent and the glass cleaner. The glass cleaner ($3.19 for 26 oz) leaves out the harsh solvents, dyes and ammonia. I also tested the Ology Stain Fighting 2X Laundry Liquid Free & Clear--($5.59 for 50oz) I tested it on our synthetics after a big weekend od skiing and outdoor workouts. It got the dirt and smells out and left out the dyes, phosphates and artificial fragrances. Both our girls are sensitive to fragrance, this gentle formula is perfect for them and their skin. It's also HE and conventional machine compatible.
