We are now the proud owners of three air purifiers. A few months ago we added the Honeywell QuietCare True HEPA($119.99) air purifier to our home. After reading what the Might Nest owners had to say about indoor air quality, I'm more strident than ever in my decision to improve the quality of air in our home for the girls.
The Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare True HEPA air purifier features high efficiency HEPA air filtration. Why HEPA? It filters out airborne allergens--since I basically live on top of the BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway--yes, the air it is as dirty as it sounds)--I've got to battle not only off-gassing, but the pollutants from outdoors. The True HEPA filter removes up to 99.97% of common household particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air passing through it such as dust and in my case exhaust fumes that waft through our windows.
We've had other air filters, but I'm keen on this one because the filter is easy to clean - simply vacuum about twice a year. On the downside--it is a little noisier than the other filters in our home, so this one is situated in the living area.
