Happy National Peanut Butter Day! To celebrate I have been enjoying some high protein and delicious nut butters from NuttZo (check out our full review here). Not only are the three varities (Orginial, Chocolate and NP (no peanuts)) packed with vitamin E, protein, omegas and antioxidants, NuttZo was born from the heart of mom, passion and drive of philanthropist, mom, wife and foodie, Danielle Dietz-LiVolsi who sought to help her vitamin deficient children after they were adopted from the Ukraine. As someone who was always interested in nutrition, Danielle experimented with food by making creative, flavorful, and super-nutritious, including NuttZo that she created by making different batches in her food processor. As Danielle noted, the result is a delicious formula that "provides your body with healthy fats and and heart healthy nutrients." She added, "With NuttZo you get the benefit of seven different nuts and seeds in every spoonful includingdifferent minerals and nutritional values." The formula is also organic where Danielle noted, "Organic Peanuts Provide over 30 essential nutrients and phytonutrients. Peanuts are a good source of niacin, folate, fiber, magnesium, vitamin E, manganese and phosphorus. They also are naturally free of trans-fats and sodium, and contain about 25% protein and have been linked to their heart-healthy benefits. Organic Flaxseed contain the richest plant source of lignans. Lingnans have anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-cancer properties." This can improve digestion, help stabilize blood glucose levels, fight tumor formation and enhance cardiovascular health.
I have been enjoying this as a great way to boost my daughter's standard peanut butter and jelly as well as by adding NuttZo to afterschool snacks like apples or to our oatmeal, a our morning staple. On the NuttZo website you can also discover some delicious recipes like NuttZo's Himalayan Truffles, NuttZo Apple Pie Breakfast and the tasty Cocoa-licious Cookies.
Danielle and her husband Kevin LiVolsi are also huge supporters of charitable work as indicated from the non-profit that they founded, Project Left Behind. Created on the principle to love all children who grow up in orphanages, NuttZo donates 1% of all gross sales to help fund Project Left Behind. This helps with everything from education to a variety of projects such as roofing, shoes and painting supplies.
Danielle also noted that NuttZo continues to grow, and that they will be coming out with a creamy version as well as cocoNUZ in 2013.
We all want the best for our kids, and with NutttZo you can rest assured that you are feeding your children high-quality, organic and healthy nut butters to keep them healthy and energized throughout the day.
