The Christmas countdown is on!
We've been getting excited for Santa's arrival with a few festive activities. My favorite so far?... Writing a letter to Santa! My son dictated, and I transcribed. (He had me in tears... and hysterics!) A local store has a special mailbox that boasts delivery to the North Pole! We dropped off his colorful card and within two weeks received a personalized response from St. Nick himself. It was so special!
It also got my three year old asking questions about that special mailbox. Suddenly, he's obsessed with sending letters and notes and packages. (He even helped "decorate" our holiday greeting cards with crayon... much to my inner perfectionist's chagrin!)
He chats with our mailman and insists on collecting the mail daily (hey, if this is an introduction to chores, I'll take it!). Given his new interest, I thought the Melissa & Doug My Own Mailbox would be a perfect holiday gift for my little guy. The adorable set comes with number and letter stickers for decorating, a hinged door, two postcards, and a lined letter and envelope that are all reusable with wipe-clean crayons. Best of all: a child's name can be engraved on the front and back by Things Remembered. It makes such a sweet gift!
