I finally came to the realization that it was time to kick my serious soda habit. I have consumed at least one soda per day since at least 1991. No joke. I took the step when I did (and survived!) a cleanse that prohibited soda, caffeine and, really, anything good to drink. It forced me to choose water, water, water all day long. And, you know what? Not only did I survive, but I really haven't gone back to my trusty (and tasty) caffeine fix. Truth is, I don't miss it nearly as much as I thought I would.
I like drinking water as much as the next person, but it can get truly boring when it's literally the only beverage I drink all day long. The invitation to try the Splash Infuser came at the perfect time because it adds instant, natural flavor to my H2O.
The Splash is a small little gadget that allows you to infuse water (or spirits!) with instant flavor from fresh fruits and herbs. It's super easy and intuitive and allows you to get creative and mix any flavor you can imagine. I started pretty basic with a Lemon Mint Water. I am not one to add lemon to my water at restaurants, but the combination of the lemon with mint is really refreshing. As soon as I had a sip I was hooked and knew I was going to love using the Splash Infuser.
I cut up some fresh mint, a few slices of lemon, mashed them up in the Splash and dropped it into my cute little mason jar.

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe
We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family ...read more
Because the infuser stays in your drink, you need to use a cup with a straw or a container with a top (think sports bottle).
I enjoyed my water so much that I decided to get a little frisky. One of our favorite ways to make a margarita is combining only tequila, lime, agave nectar and water. We didn't have agave at the moment but did have some triple sec so I went a little cray cray with my jigger and made some magic happen.
Fresh Lime Margarita
- 1.5 ounces tequila
- .5 ounce triple sec
- a little simple syrup to taste
- 1.5 ounces water
- Splash Infuser filled with lime
It was a little tricky to figure out how to add ice to the cup with the Splash Infuser, but I made it work. (Next time I'll use a bigger glass.) The lime flavor was evident and I didn't even have to squeeze lime after lime to achieve it.
Shop! The Splash Infuser is available online. You can order 1 for $9 or two for $15.
