Pair the Pinot with divine treats like goats cheese on a crisp wafer.
Until now, wine grapes were most often thought of being fermented and aged in oak barrels. Unlike barreled wines that absorb wood and other character from oak, the stainless steel fermented (unoaked) and aged wines tend to express more forward fruit aromas and flavors. For instance, Simply Naked Pinot Grigio (my favorite) is a light bodied wine that offers the true flavors of honeydew melon, white peach, passion fruit and hints of jasmine spice. It was fun to match the aroma with the taste.
