Saturday Sips: Drink Local

My hubs and I have a travel tradition no matter what kind of trip we take and no matter where we go...We always drink local. That means we make it a habit to seek out the areas best craft beers. We're nearly never disappointed by being adventurous. Much like I try to frequent the local boutiques to give our vacation destination a little of my shopping business, I try to give the local breweries some attention as well.

For the past week we've been vacationing at our happy place in the Blue Ride Mountains of North Georgia. We come every summer and this trip we decided to break out from our normal haunts to visit some places we haven't explored before. Being that North Carolina is just a hop and skip away from our mountain home, we spent quite a bit of time there and fell in love with one of their local brews.

Gaelic Ale from Highland Brewing Compan is similar to an American style amber and is quite drinkable for even the newest beer aficionado. It has a slightly sweet taste that balances well with the hops. I would have to say that it has quickly become a go-to for this craft connoisseur. It's more than perfect for our holiday weekend enjoyment. In fact, there is a case currently chilling out on the deck. If you need me, I'll be out here enjoying the refreshing mountain air while sippin' on a cold one!

So, the next time you plan a vacation, I urge you to do a little research into the local breweries and drink local too I daresay you'll find some new must haves!
