DUMBO has the best rooftop's for parties. Our views are stunning--you still feel like a party of the city, while also feeling like you can take a breath. It was the perfect setting to thank my amazing team of contributors and managers that give voice, life and energy to all things Momtrends. Here they all are. Aren't they gorgeous? Cheers ladies!
The party had been in the works for about a month. I'd been sharing my scouting trips to Pier1 (click here to see the first party planning post). I knew I wanted colorful items to make the roof feel more festive and colorful.
I love these melamine plates, the cloth napkins and my favorite recent find is the silverware caddy that makes any buffet set up look much more elegant than tossing a bunch of silverware in a pile. It's these little details that set a table apart.
Speaking of colorful, my dear friend Susie Ott whipped up the food and the flowers. She's got a gorgeous country garden and most everything in the arrangements came from her yard.
Since we had a few vegetarians coming and we knew the weather would be steamy, we kept the menu light. But we never sacrificed taste or color. We served the food on the white platters that are ubiquitous at Pier1. The food looks best on a white setting. You can liven up the rest of the table with color. I added this amazing runner under the white serving dishes and added this cool piece of lighting.
Take a look at the menu. It's easy, light and not expensive. With a garden fresh menu and Pier1 party pieces you simply can't go wrong.
In addition to the good friends and good food, we had a tarot card reader, and a full bar that was managed by Mr.Momtrends. We got to really mix business and pleasure as we welcomed in summer with a tasty meal and toasted the successes of our brand with full glasses of sangria.
Treating my team to a special night meant a lot to me. I want them to know I value the hard work they put into everything they do. Organizing, shopping and hosting are the best way to show friends you love them. If you are waiting for a reason to throw a party, FRIENDS are all the reasons you need!
