The event was hosted in the Chelsea home and art gallery of Aaron Diaz, chef and artist extraordinaire. Upon arrival guests were greeted with a glass of wine from Livermore Valley Wineriesand an appetizing starter made with Crostini, Brie and Apple Puree.

Floral Design Tips

  • Use one color of flower.
  • Use odd numbers in arranging groups.
  • Place your elbow on the table to determine the appropriate height. Anything above the hand will block the view to the accompanying table members.
  • Use large green leaves to line the inside of the vase.
  • Create a grid using scotch tape. Insert flowers in each section for better hold.
  • Use a rubber band to hold the stems together to secure the arrangement and then place in the vase.
  • Choose flowers in season. Sweet William and Dyanthasis last forever.
  • If petals are falling off the flower, don'??t get it.
  • Extend the length of the flowers by letting bleach sit in the vase for 15 minutes after each use. This kills the bacteria.
  • Use warm water, not cold.
  • Cut the stem in a very sharp diagonal to ensure that the flowers get as much water as possible through the stem.
  • Use the flower food packet.

Aaron sparked our taste buds with scrumptious appetizers fit for a king. Our first tasting combined Sautéed Scallops over Parsnip Puree & Cucumber Cups with Carrot Ginger Puree served with a California Sauvignon Blanc. Sublime!

With tummies full and energy fueling, guests were entertained by my all-time favorite kitchen gadget, Soda Stream. With five models and 35 flavors for making perfect soda, this machine is a must for all households. Guests received a first-hand demo and tasted flavors of their choice. A very lucky guest even went home with one.

STOKKE, the leading designers in children'??s gear, presented their award-winning Tripp Trapp high chair (holds up to 300 pounds, the design is so impressive it is a fixture at MoMA's cafes in NYC) and the Eat. Play. Learn. Table Top for a more organized, cleaner, interactive meal- time. Every guest departed with the Table Top and another lucky person won the Tripp Trap chair. Watch for the new pure wood Tripp Trap chair coming in June.
