We’re a football obsessed family, namely SEC football, and there’s nothing we love more than a good tailgate. We meet up with our fellow Gator fans whenever we can and everyone brings a tasty dish. And while the smorgasbord we dig into is always delicious, lighter game day snacks don’t always end up on the menu. So, this season I decided to try to lay out some snacks that are on the healthier side. I love nachos as much as the next girl, but being that the holidays are coming up, which means even more opportunities for heavy eating, I’m looking for every opportunity that I can to lighten things up.
Luckily I can always count on my local CVS. Whether you’re looking for something as simple as trail mix or a fresh take on tortilla chips, CVS has you covered. I snagged a slew of fun snacks from their Gold Emblem and Gold Emblem abound lines for our latest game day gathering. Goodies like Jalapeño Cheddar Quinoa Puffs, Spicy Sriracha Popcorn and Wasabi Soy Almonds ended up in my pantry. In fact, I mixed the popcorn and almonds together to make a seriously spicy snack mix. And the cheddar puffs were the perfect partner for my light spinach dip. On a side note...whenever I want to lighten up a recipe and still keep its creaminess, I turn to Greek yogurt. It’s my go-to secret ingredient!
