It’s the time of the year when most of us have at least one trip on the books. Am I right? It may just be a long weekend over Christmas, but the odds are that we’re going to be on the road at least a little bit over the next couple of weeks, so it’s a good idea to have some products on hand that you can throw in your bag as part of your on the go travel kit. And one of my favorite spots to pick up my family holiday travel must haves is at my local CVS! They have everything I need to fully stock my travel arsenal!
First off, my family must have snacks...lots of snacks. A hungry kiddo, or parent for that matter, is no fun, so I turn to the CVS Gold Emblem Abound line for healthy snacks like bars and trail mix that will help keep everyone’s energy up. Whether we’ve got a full day of sightseeing ahead or an epic baking sesh at my bestie’s house, eating every few hours keeps their moods light! You’ll often find a Cherry & Cashew Dark Chocolate Nut Bar in my bag for the hubs and the Goji Berry Blend Trail Mix is perfect to pack in my kids’ backpacks for easy noshing. We just went on a family trip to Washington D.C., for instance, and my little cherubs wouldn’t have made it through all the tours I “dragged” them on without sustenance. Bwah!
Skip the Crowds and Take Your Family Skiing in Waterville Valley
After a sizable snow storm over Martin Luther King weekend, there were plenty of lift lines and skiers heading to Vermont. Amazingly, most of them drove right past an awesome resort. I'm encouraging families to skip the crowds on the next winter holiday and take a family ski trip ...read more
Keeping your New Year's resolutions
The New Year is off to a fresh start, and many of us are committed to doing something or many things with more intention this year. But it's tough to stay on track. In fact, “Quitters Day”, which falls on January 14th this year, is the day when most people give up. How can you ...read more
Kids in the Kitchen: Mini Banana Waffle Pies With Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce
School has started back for many (us included!), and today's Kid's in the Kitchen recipe makes for a perfect breakfast or after-school snack. We made ours for an after-school snack the other day and my second grader loved it. We call this recipe Mini Banana Waffle Pies With ...read more
Now beyond the snacks, I also always have bandages ready because someone inevitably has a boo boo, or gets a boo or imagines that they have a boo boo. Haha! Anti-Bacterial Bandages bedecked with fun characters are definitely a must have. They go a long way to help dry up tears. And another go-to travel product of mine is a nice box of Nasal Strips. Have you ever slept in a hotel room with someone who snores? Nasal Strips can save the day! I happen to have three people in my family with allergies, so they all often snore (AT THE SAME TIME) which means mama doesn’t get much sleep if she doesn’t do something about it. Just sayin’. Can you see why they're one of my travel must haves too? Haha!
So, if you too have travel plans this holiday season, I urge you to head to your own CVS to stock up on your own holiday travel must haves...And make sure you sign up for their ExtraCare Rewards Program. The personalized emails that you’ll get based on your shopping habits will come in very handy. Trust me! And with the CVS Pharmacy App you’ll find even more offers right there on your smartphone. I know you don’t make a move without it. Or is that just me? Haha! Happy holidays!
