Elbow Room: The Ultimate Restaurant for Macaroni and Cheese

Life with kids can drastically change eating out. I tend to prepare more food at home, but I always like to have options when we are out or for those times when we treat the kids to a special meal (which also means a break for me!). We recently had the chance to do both when we checked out an interesting new restaurant where we enjoyed various types of macaroni and cheese at the Elbow Room. Located in the Barclay Center (they also have a location in Newark and Prospect Park), the Elbow Room features the perfect blend of comfort food for the modern foodie with unique twists on the classics.

With different palates, my family and I enjoyed a range of options from the Elbow Room menu including a Lobster mac for me, the Old School Mac with New York state sharp cheddar, classic béchamel, and garlic bread crumb for my girls, the meatball mac for the hubby and a side Greek salad. I loved every bite of my mac with the delicious lobster bites and the classic Old School Mac was also a favorite with it's rich and creamy cheeses. With a total of 12 macaroni and cheeses on the menu, I can't wait to go back to try their unique menu like the Mushroom Mac with crimini mushroom, spinach, Vermont gruyère and crispy shallots or the Margherita Mac with San Marzano tomato, housemade mozzarella, and fresh basil.

I loved that the Elbow Room not only makes tasty comfort food, but they also focus on high-quality ingredients like "100% grass- fed beef, Maine lobster, locally-grown organic veggies, and artisanal crafted cheeses."

I also loved the vibe of the Elbow Room that was very modern with bright yellows and various wall art placed throughout the space that gave off the comforts of home. They also had games for the kids and fun music playing.

With a relaxed vibe and delicious menu options, Elbow Room is a welcome new kid-friendly serving up everyone's favorite comfort food with an inspiring twist.
