The Parks Dept. is also offering FREE SWIM LESSONS. Learn to Swim is a free instructional program that runs at New York City’s public outdoor pools. The program teaches tots (ages 1 ½ - 5) and children (ages 6 - 14) basic water safety and swimming skills. Momtrends tip:Be sure to call ahead or go online before your visit. Most pools have VERY SPECIFIC RULES. Don't have your outing ruined because you forgot your swim capor combination lock for a locker.

For year round swimming, the price at the Y can't be beat. Noticed more dads in the locker rooms at your local Y? Me too. Here's a link to a NYT article talking about the trend. Mr.Momtrends swims with our littlest every Saturday. For more information about swimming lessons at the Y visit this link. For a list of al the NYC Y's click here. Happy splashing.
