This month the team needed a little bit of zen. We finally feel like the dust has settled since the holidays and we also needed to stretch out some of our non-stretchy parts. The studios at Yoga Shanti in Flatiron are unbelievably gorgeous not to mention clean, convenient, as well as comfortable and non-intimidating.
Sometimes when you go into a studio, you automatically feel pressure or unease. That's not the case at Yoga Shanti where the team encourages first-timers, as well as the super advanced. Their approach is calming (without putting you to sleep) and challenging (without pulling your muscles).
Our instructor, Julie, helped us individually and made sure those of us (me) had the proper support during the more advanced moves. She also gave us (me) alternative options so that we could participate in a way that was best for us.
Yoga Shanti has elements of Moroccan style with plenty of wooden details throughout. There are changing rooms, purified water stations, and a bathroom, but no shower.
Momtrends was not paid for this post. Namaste.
